I’m thrilled to announce the arrival of Antifa Lit Journal Vol. 2: Hungry Work, out this week from Not A Pipe Publishing and featuring two whole stories by yours truly!
First up is “The Motherhood Plot” which, CW: features some body horror, pregnancy, labor and delivery, and light, well-deserved murder.
Then there’s “Listen To Your Mother, Honey,” which might, on the surface, seem to be very similar, because they’re both stories about mothers, right? But this one is a light, fun, funny short story that does not feature any body horror at all and, in my mind, is best read in the voice of Michael Meyers’ “Coffee Talk” character from SNL all those years ago.
I read the whole thing as part of the editing process (Reminder! I edit as Sarah STETS!) and let me tell you, there are stories in here that will make you laugh and poems that will make you cry and some of each that will make you righteously angry. It’s a beautiful volume of work that reminds us all of what we’re fighting for.
Also, I’m just pleased as punch that the title Hungry Work came from my story “Listen To Your Mother, Honey” so yeah! Pretty proud of that!
